At present monitoring for illicit trafficking of radioactive and nuclear materials is being performed at a variety of locations. Apart from sites like customs and border checkpoints, facilities that use or produce nuclear and radioactive materials, the monitors are also installed at post offices to control mail items, at the airports and the terminals to control the luggage and cargoes, and at banks to control money.

Apart from sites like customs and border checkpoints, facilities that use or produce nuclear and radioactive materials, the monitors are also installed at post offices to control mail items, at the airports and the terminals to control the luggage and cargoes, and at banks to control money. The modular design of the PM5000A allows configuration changes of gamma and neutron monitors. Depending on the sensitivity requirements, restrictions to the installation sites, width and height of the controlled area, moving speed of the controlled object etc., any configuration of the monitor can be set up of two standard gamma and neutron radiation detector modules.
These monitors can be installed on the floor, on the wall or ceiling as well as on any vehicle as a mobile radiation monitor. If necessary the monitors can be equipped with video monitoring systems, and computer and pager communication with the specialists responsible for the radiation control process.
The monitors are ideally suited for extreme climates and harsh environments.
