The PM5000A/PM5000B Fixed Portal Vehicle Monitors

Gamma, neutron and gamma-neutron family of radiation portal monitors for search for radioactive and nuclear materials in trucks and cars. The vehicle portal monitors can be equipped with video monitoring system to record the image of a car, that triggered the alarm of the monitor.

Fixed Vehicle monitors can be installed at the facilities that use or produce radioactive and nuclear materials, at the customs and border checkpoints, major highways, bridges etc.


All the PM5000A and PM5000B vehicle monitors are configured as one multipurpose gamma/neutron radiation detector module.

In PM5000B series neutron detectors are based on 10B / ZnS (Ag).

The monitors can be mounted on foundations or walls as well as installed on the ground. They are ideally suited for extreme climate and environment conditions. Depending on the site requirements the vehicle monitors can consist of one or two pillars of various heights.

They are designed to monitor for gamma, neutron or both types of radiation. The vehicle monitors can also be equipped with video monitoring systems, computer and pager communication with the specialists, assigned to radiation monitoring task.

The following configurations of the PM5000B monitors are recommended for use as the vehicle portal monitors:

  • РМ5000В-01 - two-pillar gamma monitor which consists of 4 gamma radiation detector modules;
  • РМ5000В-05 - two-pillar gamma monitor which consists of 2 gamma radiation detector modules;
  • РМ5000В-09 - two-pillar gamma-neutron monitor which consists of 2 gamma-neutron radiation detector modules on the basis of 10B / ZnS (Ag);
  • РМ5000В-10 - two-pillar gamma-neutron monitor which consists of 4 gamma and 4 neutron radiation detector modules on the basis of 10B / ZnS (Ag);
  • РМ5000В-13 - two-pillar neutron monitor which consists of 2 neutron detector modules on the basis of 10B / ZnS (Ag);
  • РМ5000В-14 - two-pillar neutron monitor which consists of 4 neutron detector modules on the basis of 10B / ZnS (Ag);
  • РМ5000В-16 - two-pillar gamma monitor which consists of 8 gamma radiation detector modules;

The following configurations of the PM5000A monitors are recommended for use as the vehicle portal monitors:

  • PM5000A-01, PM5000A-01H – two-pillar gamma monitor which consists of 4 gamma radiation detector modules with standard or large volume gamma detectors for higher sensitivity (PM5000A-01H model) to control trucks;
  • PM5000A-05, PM5000A-05H – two-pillar gamma monitor which consists of 2 gamma radiation detector modules with standard or large volume gamma detectors for higher sensitivity (PM5000A-05H model) to control cars;
  • PM5000A-09, PM5000A-09H - two-pillar gamma-neutron monitor which consists of 2 gamma-neutron radiation detector modules with standard or large volume gamma detectors for higher sensitivity (PM5000A-10H model) to control cars;
  • PM5000A-10, PM5000A-10H - two-pillar gamma neutron monitor which consists of 4 gamma-neutron radiation detector modules with standard or large volume gamma detectors for higher sensitivity (PM5000A-10H model) to control trucks;
  • PM5000A-13 - two-pillar neutron monitor which consists of 2 neutron detector modules to control cars;
  • PM5000A-14 - two-pillar neutron monitor which consists of 4 neutron detector modules to control trucks.
